Students attend Mass weekly in addition to the monthly First Friday liturgy. Each month students learn about a different virtue. At the end of the month, students who practice this virtue in an exemplary way are recognized. Additionally, each student reflects weekly on how he/she is practicing the virtue of that month, writes it on an index card, and places it in the collection basket on Sunday. This helps to teach students that living out the virtues is a positive contribution to our parish and to society.
One Sunday a month the SSPJ School community celebrates a family liturgy. Each month a different grade actively participates by serving as readers, gift bearers, ushers, and altar servers, when possible. After Mass the students and their families enjoy a continental breakfast and family social in the cafeteria.
The school community also participates in Works of Mercy through seasonal outreaches to the needy of the area, such as Thanksgiving Food Drive and The Joy of Sox.
